Silver Award from Green Tourism

Sustainable luxury tourist accommodation

Since our opening, Casa de Olivos has taken great pride in providing guests a unique and luxurious stay in the authentic rural Castellon province.

Over the last two years we have put into action a number of initiatives and practices that we believed made us greener and more sustainable, and so it is with enormous pleasure that we are announcing our Silver Award from Green Tourism through their internationally recognised accreditation programme.

Our journey to this milestone achievement has taught us a great deal about what it means to be a sustainable tourism business. It has been rewarding to have many of our environmental actions officially recognised, such as our rainwater harvesting as our primary water source and our reliance on our solar system for all of our electricity. But through the accreditation programme we have learned that sustainability means so much more than simply a byword for environmental, and it really pushed us to look beyond our property boundary and out to the local community.

Using the three pillars of People, Places, Planet, we have taken a holistic look at our sustainability.

We are building meaningful and strong links with our nearby community and finding exciting ways to collaborate with them to enhance our guest experience and expand the local business reach. Local artisans of the Baix Maestrat are showcasing their products here and can offer guests the opportunity to try their hand at painting and pottery, learn about the olive oil and wine making, and much more.

We’re now connected to so many organisations, charities and individuals locally so that we know more about the events, festivals and cultural heritage on our doorstep, and feel closer to the heartbeat of the region. Now we’re more ready than ever to pass that on to our guests and help them discover the diversity of the local culture, history, food and natural heritage for themselves, and to participate in these for a more rewarding vacation.

We have always encouraged our guests to be to Escape, Enjoy, and Be Kind, and with our latest accreditation, everyone can be sure that they are participating in responsible tourism for the benefit of people, place and planet.

For your next luxury holiday, choose sustainable tourist accommodation and leave your footprints by our pool, not on the planet.
