Experiences in the Maestrat
Slow Travel, Deep Engagement & Authentic Moments
At Casa de Olivos, simply staying here is an experience in itself — waking up in an off-grid setting, living sustainably, breathing fresh air, and enjoying the quiet rhythm of rural Castellón. Our guests often tell us they came for the experiences, but they stayed for the tranquillity, the views and the sense of stepping out of everyday life.
We’re also very happy to walk guests around the property to explain the environmental work we’ve done here, from off-grid living and carbon-negative systems to organic olive groves and the ongoing traditional stone wall restoration projects that Ed lovingly undertakes.
Beyond this everyday experience, we’ve curated a selection of authentic local experiences that let you connect with heritage, culture, landscape and food — all within easy reach of Casa de Olivos. Transport is not included, and most experiences are organised with local partners; simply let us know what you’re interested in when booking and we’ll help plan your visit.
Simply escape, enjoy and be kind.

Wellness Morning Experience
For guests looking to slow the pace a little further, the Wellness Morning Experience offers a gently curated half day of private, one-to-one wellbeing activities designed entirely around you.
This is not a fixed programme or group session, but a relaxed flow that unfolds naturally over the course of a morning — allowing time to move, breathe, rest and simply be.
A Wellness Morning Experience may include:
- A private yoga session with José, tailored to
your level and energy on the day
- A relaxing massage treatment with José, focused on deep rest rather than therapy
- A Breath is Life breathing session with Claire, encouraging calm, awareness and presence
Sessions are arranged individually and at an unhurried pace, with space in between to enjoy the gardens, terraces or quiet corners of Casa de Olivos.
All elements of the Wellness Morning Experience are one to one, must be pre-booked in advance of arrival, and can be adapted to suit your preferences.
This experience is ideal for those seeking a moment of restoration during their stay — whether as a gentle start to the day, a way to unwind mid-stay, or simply time set aside for yourself.

Experiences – Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pre-book experiences?
Yes. All experiences at Casa de Olivos must be pre-booked before arrival. This allows us to organise hosts, timings and logistics carefully, and ensures each experience feels relaxed and personal rather than rushed.
Are experiences shared with other guests?
No. Experiences are arranged privately for Casa de Olivos guests only. Depending on the activity, they may be one-to-one or enjoyed just by your booking party.
Are experiences available every day?
Availability varies by experience and by season. Some activities are weather-dependent, while others rely on local partners. We’ll always confirm what’s possible for your dates before your stay.
How long do experiences usually last?
Most experiences last between one and three hours, although some can be spread across a half day or enjoyed over multiple days. We’re happy to help pace things gently if you prefer a slower rhythm.
Are experiences suitable for all fitness levels?
Yes. Experiences are designed to be accessible and adaptable, not physically demanding. If you have mobility considerations or specific needs, let us know in advance and we’ll advise accordingly.
Can experiences be combined into an itinerary?
Absolutely. Many guests choose to combine activities into a loosely structured itinerary over a couple of days — such as exploring Traiguera, visiting nearby heritage sites, or pairing food and wine experiences. We’re happy to help suggest a natural flow.
Are wellness activities included as experiences?
Some wellness offerings are presented as standalone extras, while others may be grouped into curated experiences such as the Wellness Morning Experience. Individual wellness sessions are always private and must be booked in advance.
Are experiences included in the accommodation price?
No. Experiences are offered as optional enhancements to your stay and are priced and paid separately. Full details and costs are shared at the time of booking and guests pay direct to our local partners at the time of the experience.
What happens if the weather changes?
If an experience is affected by weather, we’ll do our best to reschedule or offer a suitable alternative. Flexibility is part of the Casa de Olivos approach.
Can you recommend experiences if I’m not sure what to choose?
Of course. If you tell us a little about your interests — culture, food, nature, rest or exploration — we’ll suggest experiences that suit both your pace and the season.
