The province of Castellón is rugged and mountainous giving climbers plenty of choice. Our mostly-sunny climate throughout the year favours climbing, in particular in spring and autumn.
Our nearest rock face is Morral de l'Àngel near Cervera del Maestre just 20 minutes away by car, but with climbing in Morella, Els Ports, and more, climbers of all abilities have plenty to choose from.
The Els Ports Natural Park is located between the regions of Baix Ebre, Montsià and Terra Alta. The highest point is the Caro mountain (1,447 metres) from where the Pyrenees and the Balearic Islands can be seen on a clear day.
On the massif there is an abundance of caves, eddies and chasms. An example, is the erosion that the Matarranya river causes as it passes through the mountain, leaving spectacular formations some suitable for caving.
With a long Mediterranean coastline from just 15 minutes away, Casa de Olivos gives you the chance to experience a variety of watersports.
Hire a paddle-board or sea kayak on Playa Fora del Forat, Vinaròs. Rent a jet-ski and see Peñiscola's Citadel in the Sea from a new angle.
Boat hire and charters are available from Benicarló and Peñiscola where you can also get tuition from qualified instructors. The boats can take you on a sightseeing tour of the coast, fishing excursions and diving trips.
Finally, for those happier on inland waters, head for the Embalse de Ulldecona near La Sénia where you can rent a kayak or pedalo and cruise around the reservior. Enquire at Moli L'Abad II restaurant.
Panoramica Golf is undoubtedly one of the best golf courses in Spain, located near the neighbouring town of Sant Jordi, it is the headquarters for PGA Espana.
Just a 10 minute drive from Casa de Olivos, the 80 hectare course with its impressive lakes, is the only golf course in Spain designed by the German professional Bernhard Langer.

Padel tennis is the second most popular sport in Spain. Traiguera has two courts that guests of Casa de Olivos can hire to enjoy a game of this national sport.
Whether you are a regular player or new to the sport padel is a game that can be played gently or competitively - depending on your ability. Padel tennis is a combination of tennis and squash that is played by 2 (singles) or 4 players (doubles). You play using a small thick racket (a paddle) and a type of tennis ball and these are available to hire from Casa de Olivos. The padel court is much smaller than a tennis court and is fully enclosed with a glass rear and sidewall - so should be easier to play than standard traditional tennis!
If you are looking for just a gentle sport to play with family and friends then you don't even need to leave the premises. Casa de Olivos has a petanca piste with a difference.
Our 'Patenca en la Orilla' is set on the edge of an olive grove with amazing views over the valley from our elevated hillside location. With shaded, spectator seating, its the perfect place to have some leisurely fun at a simple sport that everyone can join in.
