The Casa de Olivos philosophy is quite simple really.
You can call it sustainable tourism, eco-friendly, carbon conscious...
but we have three simple mantras...
Leave behind the stresses of day to day life. Our hillside position gives amazing views wherever you look. The natural surroundings are a wildlife haven, and you’re surrounded by space on all sides.
Go for wonderful country walks and immerse yourself in the seasonal fauna and flora, accessible right outside our gates.
From the poolside bar area gaze out over the patchwork of working groves on the valley below, rich with almond, carob and olive trees.
And simply chill-out on one of the sofas in our olive groves while reading a book or watching the swooping birds in the valley, all from the shade of an olive tree.
It’s the place to kick back, relax and escape the hassles of everyday living. Some space and time for you.
There is no need to sacrifice the little luxuries! Casa de Olivos may be a carbon negative, sustainable accommodation, in a rural location, but the accommodation and facilities are definitely not rustic.
Our 4 star Casa Rural aims to make your stay completely relaxing and allow you to simply enjoy your precious time here. Each stylish apartment is fully equipped with everything you need; luxury cotton bed linens and towels, hotel quality mattresses, smart TVs, bluetooth speakers and (most importantly) dishwashers.
The pool terrace offers spacious sunbathing pods for two, four-poster bed for use day or night, beautiful gardens, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, and even an outdoor cinema.
Comfort without compromise.
Care for our blue planet so we can all enjoy it more.
While you’re here, you’ll be living carbon negative and so reducing your carbon footprint. You’ll be living ‘off-grid’: our primary electricity supply is from the abundant Spanish sun which our solar array converts into electricity; our primary water source is rainwater collected from the house roof, and so many guests have told us how their skin feels better after using it for even a few days. We re-use all the water from showers, basins and sinks as irrigation water on the ornamental plants, using every drop twice, and so we supply you with quality shower gel, shampoo and conditioner that is kind to the planet too.
The harvested rainwater is filtered and sterilised in our own UV-C treatment plant, meaning the water stays pure and free from added chemicals like chlorine, but is perfectly safe to drink. The UV system is powered, of course, from our solar panels.
We separate all recyclables from our rubbish, and fruit and vegetable waste goes into our own compost heaps, which will be used to nourish our organic vegetable patch and olive groves.
Products for guests are sourced locally, including crockery and kitchenware from the local pottery in Traiguera. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the abundance of local amenities and restaurants featuring local produce to experience the best this authentic rural location has to offer.
Guests staying at Casa de Olivos will be supporting sustainable tourism - so being kind to local people, places and the planet.
In 2023 Casa de Olivos were awarded the internationally recognised Green Tourism Silver Award accreditation for our sustainability credentials as described above, and after many projects to improve our sustainability and becoming Carbon Negative, we were awarded the GOLD standard in September 2024.
We were also accredited by Bioscore in 2023, and became members of the Comunitat Valenciana Creaturisme - Ecoturismo.

Ed is a member of Tree-Nation's Net Zero Citizen program. By having Tree-Nation plant trees around the world for us, every month, we offset our carbon emissions, helping fight climate change and reforest the world.
These new forests also support local biodiversity and so help provide new homes for a wealth of plants, insects, birds and animals too.
See how our Tree-Nation Net Zero planting is working for us, and how you could join too.
As parents ourselves we understand the importance of children needing a secure and supportive home in which to grow up.
So we support Aldeas Infantiles SOS in Spain - part of the SOS Children's Villages international charity.
They care for children and young people who are in vulnerable situations, promoting their development and autonomy by placing them in protective family environments and strengthening their family, social and community networks.
