Accomodation FAQs – Staying at Casa de Olivos

Is Casa de Olivos suitable for couples and solo travellers?

Yes. Casa de Olivos is designed primarily for adults seeking peace, space and comfort. It’s especially popular with couples and solo travellers looking to slow down, reconnect and enjoy a quieter pace of life.

Is Casa de Olivos off-grid?

Yes. Casa de Olivos operates off-grid using renewable energy and carefully designed sustainable systems. Most guests don’t notice any difference in comfort — just a calmer, more thoughtful way of living.

Do the apartments have air conditioning?

Casa de Olivos does not use artificial air conditioning — quite simply, the house doesn’t need it.

The building is a modern thermo-mass construction, designed to naturally absorb and release heat slowly, helping keep interiors cool in summer and warm in winter. We also use passive cooling measures including reflective window films that remove around 80% of the sun’s heat, traditional shutters to block direct sunlight when required, and excellent natural ventilation throughout.

For added comfort, each apartment has quiet ceiling and floor fans, and all windows are fitted with mosquito screens, allowing guests to open windows at night and enjoy the cooler evening air. Many guests tell us they barely notice the absence of air conditioning — just that the apartments feel calmer, cool and comfortable, even in high summer.

Is Casa de Olivos quiet?

Very. We’re surrounded by olive groves with no through traffic or nightlife noise — ideal for rest and switching off. As this is a working rural area, occasional daytime farming sounds are part of the natural rhythm of life here.

Do I need a car during my stay?

A car is strongly recommended. While Traiguera itself is walkable, having a car allows you to explore nearby towns, beaches, natural parks, walking routes and restaurants with ease.

Are restaurants and shops nearby?

Yes. Traiguera has local bars, bakeries, butchers and simple restaurants within walking distance. A wider choice of shops, markets and dining options can be found in nearby towns such as Sant Jordi, Sant Mateu, Vinaròs and Benicarló.

Is Casa de Olivos suitable year-round?

Absolutely. Each season has its own appeal — from spring blossoms and autumn walks to warm summer evenings and peaceful winter sunshine. The house is designed for comfort in all seasons.

Is Casa de Olivos a hotel?

No. Casa de Olivos is a small, privately run rural retreat offering self-contained apartments with a personal, relaxed approach. Guests value the space, independence and sense of home rather than traditional hotel services.
